Permit Application (PDF)
Special rules for Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park, Kaua‘i

All camping and Lodging permits administered by the Division must be obtained through the following procedures. We do not presently have an on-line reservation system.

Camping and lodging permits may be applied for up to ONE YEAR in advance. The only exception to this is for all parks on the island of O‘ahu, where permits can be applied for no sooner than 30 DAYS in advance.

The simplest way to make a camping or lodging reservation or payment is to do so in person at one of the District Offices.  To inquire about availability or make a reservation, you may call the appropriate District Office.  They are open Monday-Friday, 8 am-3:30 pm Hawaii time (2-3 hours earlier than the West coast depending on Daylight Savings Time, which is not observed in Hawaii). Offices are closed on State holidays.  PLEASE NOTE:  DUE TO THE CURRENT FISCAL CRISIS, OFFICES MAY HAVE REDUCED PERMIT ISSUANCE HOURS FROM TIME TO TIME.  WE APOLOGIZE FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE.

If the dates you want are available, you should download the Permit Application, print it, fill it out and mail it along with payment and clear photocopies of IDs for all adults listed on the permit application (for minors, include names/ages only), to the appropriate district office:

No telephone reservations may be made 45 days or less in advance of the first night of your stay.

Accepted forms of payment include cash, cashier's check, certified check, postal money order or bank money order. We do not accept credit card payments. Checks are to be made payable to Department of Land and Natural Resources. Personal or business checks will be accepted only if payment is received more than 30 days before the date of the event, therefore checks will not be accepted for O`ahu camping.
